You must have 250 total hours, including 50 hours of cross-country flight, 100 hours of Pilot In Command,  and an instrument rating for flights more than 50 miles away and for night flights.

Absolutely, if your plane will hold them!  However, you may not accept payment for services.  They can help out with the fuel costs, but may not pay you as a pilot for your services.  Once you receive your commercial license, you may then be paid to operate a plane for hire.

Most airlines, have multi-engine airplanes, so therefore, a Multi-Engine Commercial License would be required.
